Ashenafi Argaw — Founder & CEO
Before Ardent Coffee was officially established in 2017, the company already existed—in the vision and lifelong passion of its founder, Ashenafi Argaw. For Ashenafi, coffee has never been just a business; it has been his life's calling.
Born and raised in Sidama, one of Ethiopia's most renowned coffee-growing regions, Ashenafi learned the art of coffee farming and processing from his grandparents at an early age. Since 2002, he has built more than two decades of international experience across Ethiopia, the United States, and Central America, establishing an extensive expertise in specialty coffee production, quality management, and international trade.
As the Founding President of the Specialty Coffee Association of Ethiopia (SCAE) and author of the upcoming book Ethiopian Coffee Garden, he shapes a clear vision: to represent Ethiopian specialty coffee at the highest international standard while creating lasting value for farmers and global roasters alike.
